UFA Mentorship Opportunity

Advancing Women Mentorship

UFA is helping grow the agricultural leaders of tomorrow.

In late March, UFA set up a mentorship between Nicole Fossheim, a Lakeland College Student, and Charlene Hannotte, our leading UFA Customer Account Manager. The pair met to kick off the mentorship at the Advancing Women in Agriculture - Western Conference in Calgary.

Hannotte and Fossheim were paired together because of Hannotte’s deep knowledge of the agricultural industry and Fossheim’s intention to make an impact through a career in agriculture. “The best part of the conference was meeting the empowering women and chatting with so many of them that came from different aspects of agriculture” says Fossheim.

This opportunity is part of a pilot program and intention to facilitate an increased focus on mentorship through Community Investment. “I was happy to give my time and I was able to learn from Nicole and get a glimpse into what the next generation in agriculture holds,” says Hannotte.

As part of our commitment to our members and the agriculture industry, UFA has a responsibility to support the next generation of leaders in agriculture. By reaching out to these women in university, we are pleased to have a role in supporting them on their path to the future.

Check back on our webpage throughout the summer to learn more about mentorship initiatives UFA has put into action within our communities around Alberta.
