Ten great days and ten great nights - fueled by UFA

At this year's Calgary Stampede UFA delivered on the big stage! As the new Official Fuel Suppler, it was the first time our products and services helped bring the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth to more than 1.2 million guests.

"We're very excited to expand our partnership with the Calgary Stampede for another three years," said Don Smith, Vice President Petroleum at UFA. "The enhanced sponsorship offered greatly expanded logo recognition around Stampede Park, including in the rodeo infield and on all of the Stampede-owned vehicles--there were 100 on-road fleet vehicles donning the "UFA Official Fuel Supplier" logo. And the Official Fuel Supplier superboard commercial played 360 times on eight super boards around the park."

The new sponsorship also offered UFA benefits and recognition in ways beyond the Official Fuel Supplier and title sponsor of the UFA Cattle Trail. The expanded presence included recognition on the Chuckwagon Radio Network as well as at the Rangeland Derby as the "Last Night's Winner Award" sponsor, which highlighted the fastest fault-free chuckwagon driver from the previous evening. UFA President and CEO, Carol Kitchen presented driver Mark Sutherland with the prestigious award on the last Friday of Stampede in front of a jam-packed grandstand.

"This award aligns beautifully with our continued commitment to safety," said Kitchen. "At the end of the day, we want everyone to make it home safely to their loved ones and this is a great opportunity to recognize safety at the Calgary Stampede."

Stampede UFA

UFA continued to be the title sponsor of the UFA Cattle Trail where over 35 volunteers helped to tell Stampede visitors the beef industry story of pasture to plate. With over 1,271,241 people taking in the sights and sounds of the midway, rodeo and agriculture events, this equated to thousands of visitors through the UFA Cattle Trail.

"We are so grateful to the many volunteers who help to educate visitors from all over the world," said Darcie Todd, Community Investment Manager at UFA. "Our volunteers not only engage and bring energy to the UFA Cattle Trail, but they act as ambassadors for farmers and ranchers across the province and in the end, we could not do this without them."

As a Stockman Level Sponsor, UFA also had the opportunity to say thank you to valued customers, members, and partners through various hosting opportunities.

"Our co-operative is all about connecting with our customers and finding out how we can best serve their needs. Being able to build those relationships and to say thank you by spending quality time with them in a setting like the Calgary Stampede is invaluable," said Rob Giguere, Vice President of Agribusiness at UFA.

Stampede 2018 was one of the best 10 days visitors have seen for a number of years. Picture-perfect weather, anniversary celebrations like 50 years of the Young Canadians, new attractions, bigger prizes and delicious food meant an increase in attendance and no better time for UFA to have shown up loud and proud!

"Not only does our renegotiated partnership benefit UFA from a business perspective but also from a brand perspective," said Kitchen. "This has paved the way for other new and exciting sponsorship opportunities across the province and we are already looking forward to next year."
