On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Bolton, Chief Financial Officer, as interim CEO of United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Ltd.
This appointment follows the recent announcement of Carol Kitchen’s departure as President & CEO effective July 26, 2019.
The UFA Board of Directors has formed a CEO Selection Committee, and the search for the appropriate candidate to fill this role is currently underway. To ensure the appropriate diligence and care is dedicated to this process, the decision was made to appoint an interim CEO to minimize interruptions in the day-to-day business operations of UFA.
With over 30 years’ experience in Canada, US and abroad, Scott has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills with a long track record of results. The Board of Directors and UFA has confidence in Scott’s ability to maintain and build on the momentum of the UFA team during the ongoing executive search and review.
UFA has been fortunate with the depth of skill and knowledge Carol brought to our co-operative, and recognize the value of the legacy she leaves behind in the strength of the Senior Leadership Team built under her guidance. This team will continue to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors and the UFA team to ensure we continue to deliver on our business objectives while further strengthening our co-operative.
We sincerely congratulate Scott Bolton on his new role effective July 26, 2019, and look forward to his contributions as interim CEO.
