Community Investment kicks off 2019 with UFA Rural Rocks

New event helps promote the Team Koe brand partnership

Last summer UFA’s community investment (CI) program renewed its support of Team Koe, and starting next week, CI is kicking off the New Year with an exciting new event called UFA Rural Rocks.

On Monday, January 7, 40 junior curlers will arrive at the Didsbury Curling rink to spend valuable ice team learning from Team Koe. “UFA Rural Rocks” is an opportunity for junior curlers to learn from the Team in a small group setting.

This event helps to anchor and reinforce UFA’s commitment to supporting rural communities, says community investment manager Kim MacDonald. The group of students, who are between the ages seven to 16, are from the junior curling program from the Didsbury area.

The event also helps to kick off the 2019 Didsbury Farmer's Bonspiel, which is co-sponsored by UFA and Nufarm, another Team Koe sponsor.

It’s a great way for us to leverage an important and committed brand partner, says MacDonald. These students get to spend valuable ice time learning from their curling idols, all while enabling UFA’s CI program to promote this important brand partnership.

Team Koe

Team Koe says they are “looking forward to more fun with UFA in the winter of 2019.”

In 2018, the team said good bye to long-time members Marc Kennedy and Brent Laing and welcomed two strong new players, B.J. Neufeld and Colton Flasch. Lead Ben Hebert reported the updated world rankings came out just before Christmas and Team Koe is currently ranked #1 in the World!

Community investment is looking forward to the event next week, and providing you all with an update to how the event went!

You can join UFA in cheering on Team Koe throughout the 2019 season! In addition to following @TeamKevinKoe on Twitter and Facebook, most events will be covered on TSN and Sportsnet. We’ve provided a full Team Koe schedule below.
