Manager Sales and Service, Livestock

I have been involved in the sales and service side of the Agriculture business for more than 20 years. I also own and operate my own cow/calf operation in southern Alberta. I work with a great team that has formed a rapport with ranchers and feedlot owners alike that goes far beyond a transactional relationship.

Simon Cobban

Manager, Feedlot Solutions

I have been with UFA for nine years, but my industry experience spans more than two decades of managing, owning, operating, building, servicing and supplying the feedlot industry. Whether you require assistance with sales, feedlot technologies, micro weigh or feed truck systems, I am your ‘go-to’ guy.

What I bring to the UFA Livestock team is my background in livestock production and my firm understanding of the beef industry. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Alberta and spent several years with a national veterinary pharmaceutical distribution company before joining UFA in 2014.

I believe my diverse knowledge base best helps me to support UFA in all Aspects of Agribusiness. As an Animal Health Technician, I have years of experience in the cow/calf, feedlot and veterinary industry, but I also hold my Agronomy certificate to provide a breadth of expertise to our members and customers in the Vermilion, Provost and Consort areas.

Consider me a CAM of all-trades! I have a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business from the University of Wyoming. I have experience in rodeo livestock production, and I also managed a cow/calf operation in the United States. But that’s just on the Livestock side of things! I also worked for a grain elevator and in the areas of agronomy and crop protection before transitioning to my current role at UFA.

I bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the UFA team. I have a decade of experience in the Alberta cattle industry, but I am originally from Monterrey, Mexico. While living in Monterrey, I worked at the multi-national corporation, Sukarne, as a trial coordinator. Sukarne exports the largest percentage of beef, pork, and chicken in Mexico on an annual basis. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science.
