As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday and gear up for the start of our fourth quarter and the upcoming holiday season, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the recent events and express our sincere condolences on behalf of UFA and our rural communities. Our hearts go out to the families of those affected by the horrific attacks in Las Vegas, and in our own capital city, and as well to the thousands affected by the devastating hurricanes this past month.
Ironically, it is often in these times of tragedy, that we truly see the very best of human kindness and generosity. And it is in those moments of people coming together that we witness the strength of the co-operative spirit. We would like to take this time to encourage you to embrace and celebrate the power of being part of a co-operative, each and every day.
Today, I would also like to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for helping to make our co-operative what it is. Thank you for your generosity and your willingness to go above and beyond helping your neighbours and the members of your community in so many different ways throughout the year.
It’s true that there is strength in numbers and I am continually thankful to be able to lead this generations-old co-operative. I reflect on what makes us different yet so unique. We are members, customers, partners, stakeholders and staff—but at the end of the day we are all just people bound together by trust and the common goal of success. Together we believe in the co-operative effort so that the greater good benefits. This has been a year filled with both challenging times and victorious times, and it’s comforting to know that together we move forward.
As you enjoy the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend with family and friends, please note that UFA Farm & Ranch Supply stores will be closed so that our employees can spend time with their loved ones as well.
