“Telling the story of agriculture and sharing its history is more important than ever as we talk about raising the profile and educating consumers on where their food comes from. We all have a role to play in ‘agvocating’ for agriculture in Alberta.”

- UFA Chairman Kevin Hoppins

For the second year on behalf of Alberta’s farmers and ranchers, UFA sponsors this live animal display of beef cattle, which is enhanced by informative and engaging displays about the industry and production held during the Calgary Stampede, July 7-16, 2017. The Cattle Trail is a showcase that talks about industry practices that enhance animal welfare, ensure food safety, protect natural resources and improve health and nutrition for consumers.

The interactive exhibits are family-friendly, attracting over 120,000 guests in 2016. Industry experts are on hand to take visitors on an exciting journey through the product lifecycle of beef, exploring everything from the science of beef cattle breeding to understanding the different cuts of beef they see on their dinner table.

The UFA Cattle Trail encompasses each sector of the beef story, including:

  • PASTURE
  • COW/CALF PRODUCTION
  • HERD MANAGEMENT
  • GENOMICS, GENETICS AND CHAMPIONS
  • FINISHING DISPLAY
  • PRODUCT BEEF
  • RETAIL AND COOKING
