MESSAGE TO OUR MEMBERS

CAROL KITCHEN

KEVIN HOPPINS

BOARD CHAIR

Crops need planning, cows need feeding and tanks need filling. Work isn’t scheduled. And you don’t make room in your calendar to get to it next week.

At UFA we understand you expect to get products and services from your co-operative so that you can get what you need, when you need it, to get that work done.

We also understand the importance of hard work. Like you, we worked tirelessly this past year, investing in our infrastructure, business processes and teams so that we could better serve you. We made strategic changes in how we ran our business. We continued executing our strategic plan and transformed our assets, drove operational excellence wherever we could, and improved our co-operative’s sustainability through good governance. By following through we enabled our business to do what is necessary to drive success, so that we continue to be a relevant supplier for you, our customers and members.

Our annual Member Report is a great opportunity to share with you our story—where we made improvements and investments to provide you with a greater understanding of where we are taking our 110-year-old co-operative.

We are proud to report that our results speak volumes. In 2018 we grew our EBITDA to 77 million, up 62% from 2017. We achieved a return of 13.1% on invested capital, the highest UFA has seen in a decade. And our revenues hit $1.8 billion. The numbers help to tell the story that UFA is making important business decisions, as well as investing wisely so that your co-operative remains healthy both today, and in the future.

Your loyalty and patronage has seen us through many market cycles, industry challenges and unforgiving weather patterns. And for that we are grateful.

What is the best way UFA can thank you for your business in 2018?

It’s by paying patronage.

How much? Read on!
