Dear UFA members,

I wanted to personally share with you the news that I will be pursuing a new opportunity that affords me with the chance to relocate to Central Illinois, much closer to family. As part of this relocation, my final day as President & CEO with United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Ltd. will be July 26, 2019. This was not an easy decision and it was one that I made with careful thought and consideration.

I am extremely proud of the entire UFA team and the dedication they have demonstrated in strengthening our co-operative to serve you better. When I joined UFA four years ago, our co-operative was struggling operationally and financially. Since then, our collective efforts have turned things around evidenced by a $14 million patronage payment this year.

While this is a notable improvement from a financial perspective, I am most proud of how our co-operative is better serving the needs of you, our members and customers. We set a goal four years ago to become the trusted supplier of products and services in the markets we serve. Today I am pleased with how far we have come in achieving that goal and our promise to you is what motivates us each and everyday to continue improving to serve you better.

This beautiful province, and country, will always hold a special place in my heart. I will take many wonderful memories with me and I will cherish the meaningful relationships I have developed with our team, our members and our partners.

I would like to assure you that a search for a new President & CEO will begin immediately, and I am confident the senior leadership team will be able to manage our co-operative until a new President & CEO is in place. The UFA that I am leaving behind is very strong operationally and financially, and you are in good hands with the senior leadership team which remains in place.

Thank for giving me the opportunity to lead this historic co-operative and I wish each one of you all the best going forward.

Warm Regards,

Carol Kitchen
