UFA Co-operative Limited opens bulk fertilizer plant in Stettler

Calgary, March 20–Farmers can bulk up on their fertilizer needs when UFA Co-operative Limited’s Stettler crop nutrition facility opens March 20.

“UFA is investing in growth opportunities that will diversify our business and enable our co-operative to thrive for another hundred years,” says Chuck Côté, UFA vice-president of Agricultural Operations. “The bulk fertilizer plant in Stettler is part of our strategy to ensure UFA has the products, services and solutions that are critical to farmers.”

The new facility will give Stettler-area growers access to fertilizer when and where they need it. With the latest equipment and technology, the new facility enables efficient blending and loading. UFA has one other plant of this kind in La Crete. Planning is underway to open a third in Vulcan later this spring.

“Farms in Western Canada are growing and our crop nutrition facilities are just one way we’re growing with them,” adds Côté.

The Stettler crop nutrition facility’s grand opening is March 20, giving area farmers access to an important crop input in time for seeding.
